Bridgwater Friary

Bridgwater Friary was a Franciscan monastery established in 1245 and dissolved in 1538 in Bridgwater, Somerset, England. It was founded by William Briwere and moved from another location. Further buildings were added in 1278 and 1284. The church was rebuilt in the 15th century and consecrated in 1445. After the dissolution of the monasteries it became a mansion house.

Durleigh reservoir

Durleigh reservoir at Durleigh in Somerset, England covers 80 acres and was formed in 1938 when Durleigh brook, a tributary of the River Parrett, was dammed. It is used for coarse fishing, particularly carp, roach, bream, perch, tench and pike. The reservoir provides facilities for dinghy sailing, sailboarding and windsurfing through Durleigh Sailing Club. The wildlife includes several bird species including: ducks, great crested grebes, swans and geese.

Cannington Nunnery

Cannington Nunnery was established around 1138 and dissolved in 1536 in Cannington, Somerset, England. It was attached to the Church of St Mary. Benedictine nuns, transferred to Colwich Abbey. The building was converted into a mansion and later reverted to being a nunnery. It was disestablished as part of the dissolution of the monasteries in 1536. Cannington Court incorporates some of the remains.

Willow Man

Willow Man is a large outdoor sculpture by Serena de la Hey. It is situated in a field next to the northbound carriageway of the M5 motorway, near Bridgwater in Somerset, South West England, near to the Bristol to Exeter railway line and junction 23 of the motorway. It stands 40 feet, with aBad rounding here{{#invoke:Math|precision_format| (5)*1/0.3048 | 1-1 }}-foot (5 m) arm span, and is made of black maul willow withies woven over a 3-tonne steel frame.

Bridgwater Rural District

Bridgwater was a rural district in Somerset, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was created in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894. In 1974 it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 becoming part of Sedgemoor.
