Cruden Bay railway station
Cruden Bay railway station was a railway station serving Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire. It closed in 1932. From 1899 to 1932, a passenger tramway service from the station to the Cruden Bay Hotel was provided by the Cruden Bay Hotel Tramway. After the station closed to passenger traffic the tramway continued with freight services until 1940. Whinnyfold or Whinneyfold is a small coastal village at the southern end of the Bay of Cruden in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Whinnyfold (locally pronounced finnyfa) is a clifftop hamlet of fisher cottages built in the 1860s, replacing an older settlement one mile inland. Whinnyfold has no harbour, and fisherfolk had to scramble up and down a steep grass slope to access their boats and catches.
