Beaufort Castle, Scotland

Beaufort Castle is a castle in northern Scotland, near Beauly. It is the traditional seat of the chiefs of the Clan Fraser. Caisteal Duuaidh is the Gaelic name of Beaufort Castle.

Eilean Aigas

Eilean Aigas (NH4641) is an island in the River Beauly, Scotland, in Kiltarlity parish in traditional Inverness-shire, now Highland Region. It is most notable for the mansion on it at its north end, which was formerly owned by the Sobieski Stuarts and rented by author and Scottish nationalist Compton Mackenzie from Lord Fraser of Lovat. It is joined to the bank by a narrow white bridge.

Moniack Castle

Moniack Castle is a 16th-century tower house located 7 miles west of Inverness, and just south of Beauly in Highland, Scotland. The castle was built in 1580 by members of the Clan Fraser. Today the castle grounds comprise a winery, which is still owned and operated by Frasers. The castle is protected as a category B listed building. The L-plan castle has been altered many times since its construction. The crenellated parapet was added in 1804 and the castle was extended in the 1830s.

The Aird

The Aird is an area of the County of Inverness, to the west of the City of Inverness. It is situated to the south of the River Beauly and the Beauly Firth, and to the north of Glenurquhart and the northern end of Loch Ness. Villages within the Aird include Kirkhill, Kiltarlity, Lentran and Inchmore. It is the traditional heart of the Clan Fraser's territory, containing their family seat of Beaufort Castle.

Lovat Castle

Lovat Castle is a ruined castle in northern Scotland, near Beauly, Highland. The castle once stood on the right bank of the River Beauly. Originally known as Beauly Castle, it was built by the Bissets in the 11th-12th century. The castle came into the Fraser's hands via the marriage of Simon Fraser to a Bissett heiress in the 13th century and was dismantled for building materials in 1671.
