Rosemarkie transmitting station

The Rosemarkie transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, situated close to the town of Rosemarkie, Scotland, in Highland. It consists of a 110 metres high guyed steel lattice mast erected on land that is itself about 210 m above sea level only a few hundred metres from the coast of the Moray Firth. It is owned and operated by Arqiva.

Cromartyshire

Cromartyshire (Siorrachd Chromba in Gaelic) was a county in the Highlands of Scotland, consisting of a main portion between Sutherland and Ross-shire and a series of exclaves within Ross-shire. Ross-shire and Cromartyshire were combined as the single county of Ross and Cromarty by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889, and this became part of the Highland region in 1975. The only burgh of Cromartyshire was the county town, Cromarty.

HMS Natal (1905)

HMS Natal was a Duke of Edinburgh-class armoured cruiser built for the Royal Navy in the mid-1900s. She escorted the royal yacht in 1911–1912 for the newly-crowned King George V's trip to India to attend the Delhi Durbar. During World War I the ship was assigned to the 2nd Cruiser Squadron of the Grand Fleet, but did not participate in any battles. Natal was sunk by an internal explosion near Cromarty on 30 December 1915.

Rosemarkie Stone

The Rosemarkie Stone or Rosemarkie Cross, a Class II Pictish stone, is one of the major surviving examples of Pictish art in stone. Carved from fine-grained sandstone, the Rosemarkie stone was found in the ancient churchyard of the village of Rosemarkie, probable site of a major Pictish monastery, on the Black Isle of Easter Ross and is now on display in Rosemarkie's Groam House Museum (open in summer; entrance charge).

Rosemarkie sculpture fragments

The Rosemarkie sculpture fragments are the Pictish slabs and stone fragments other than the main Rosemarkie Stone which have been discovered in Rosemarkie, on the Black Isle of Easter Ross. There are fourteen in all. Perhaps the most widely known is the so-called Daniel Stone. The latter is so named because of the tendency among scholars and enthusiasts of Pictish art to give every Pictish stone a Christian interpretation.
