Le Moyne, Alabama

Le Moyne is an unincorporated community in Mobile County, Alabama. It was named in honor of the Le Moyne brothers, Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville and Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville, founders of colonial Mobile. Twenty-Seven Mile Bluff, on the Mobile River, is located in Le Moyne. The bluff is the site of the former Fort Louis de La Louisiane, the first capital of French Louisiana from 1702 until 1711.

General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge

The General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge consists of dual parallel tied through archs of weathering steel and beam viaducts of concrete that form one continuous span carrying four lanes of Interstate 65 across the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta northeast of the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. Built from 1978 to 1980, it spans a distance of 6.08 miles over the delta, making it, along with the Jubilee Parkway across Mobile Bay to its south, among the longest bridges in the nation.
