Tallahatta Springs, once called Lowder Springs, is an unincorporated community in Clarke County, Alabama, United States. It was once known for its mineral springs at the headwaters of Tallahatta Creek. A health resort was established here in the middle of the 19th century. Language scholars believe Tallahatta to be an adaptation of two Choctaw language words: tali (rock) and hata (silver/white), literally "white rock."

Bashi Skirmish
The Bashi Skirmish in the Creek War was fought in what became Failetown, Alabama. A Clarke County historical marker which stands on Woods Bluff Road between Alabama 69 and Cassidy Hill marks the location of the incident which resulted in the death of 4 whites. The exact date of this skirmish is not clear but it is believed to have occurred in early in October 1813. At least one source puts it at October 4, 1813.
