Bowie High School is a high school in Bowie, Arizona. It, along with an elementary school and middle school, comprises the Bowie Unified School District. Its enrollment of 17 students makes it the smallest high school currently in the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Bowie is an unincorporated community in Cochise County, Arizona. The community lies on Interstate 10 in eastern Arizona close to the western New Mexico border. The community is in the west of the San Simon Valley, as well as the northeast foothills of the Dos Cabezas Mountains. On Interstate 10, Willcox, Arizona at the Willcox Playa lies west-southwest; San Simon, AZ and Road Forks-Lordsburg, New Mexico lie east. Bowie has the ZIP Code of 85605; in 2000, the population of the 85605 ZCTA was 706.

Apache Pass

Apache Pass (named for the Apache people) (el. 5110 ft. ) is a historic passage in the U.S. state of Arizona between the Dos Cabezas Mountains and Chiricahua Mountains, approximately 32 km (20 mi) E-SE of Willcox, Arizona.

Battle of Apache Pass

The Battle of Apache Pass was fought in 1862 at Apache Pass, Arizona, in the United States, between Apache warriors and the Union volunteers of the California Column as it marched from California to capture Confederate Arizona and to reinforce New Mexico's Union army. It was one of the largest battles between the Americans and the Chiricahua during the Apache Wars.

Diamond Mountain Center

Diamond Mountain is a Tibetan Buddhist seminary and retreat center located south of Bowie, Arizona in the Sonoran Desert. Oriented towards the Gelugpa school, it was founded by Geshe Michael Roach in 2000 and opened to students in September 2004. It is not an accredited university. The 1,000-acre site was purchased in October 2001 and was formerly known as "Bear Springs Ranch". Diamond Mountain is run by volunteers as a not-for-profit organization and does not charge tuition.
