Vail, Arizona

Vail is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pima County, Arizona, United States located Southeast of the nearby City of Tucson. The population was 10,208 at the 2010 census. The area is known for the nearby Colossal Cave, a large cave system, and the Rincon Mountains District of Saguaro National Park, a top tourism spot within Arizona. Vail was originally a station and water stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Cienega High School

Cienega High School (also known as CHS) is a public high school in Vail, Arizona. It opened in the fall of 2001 with approximately 450 students (350 freshmen and 100 sophomores). It is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association's 5A Conference. Cienega is currently the largest school in the Vail Unified School District in terms of student enrollment. (Empire High School is only two thirds the size.

Colossal Cave (Arizona)

Colossal Cave is a large cave system in southeastern Arizona, near the community of Vail, approximately 22 miles SE of Tucson. It contains about 3.5 miles of mapped passageways, and was discovered by Soloman Lick in 1879. Temperatures inside average 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius) year-round. The cave is an ancient karst cave, classified as "dry" by guides (though this is not a speleologic term).

KRDX

KRDX is an oldies radio station that serves Tucson, Arizona. KRDX broadcasts on the frequency of 98.5 MHz and is licenced to broadcast from Vail, Arizona (a southeastern suburb of Tucson). Due to the station's ERP of 3,900 watts and first adjacent channel to Hot 98.3, interference problems can be heard in the northwestern parts of Tucson as well as sporadically through Tucson.
