Blanchard Springs Caverns

Blanchard Springs Caverns is a cave system located in the Ozark National Forest in Stone County in northern Arkansas, 2 miles off Highway 14 a short distance north of Mountain View. Blanchard Springs Caverns is a three-level cave system, two of which are open for guided tours. The Dripstone Trail runs through the upper level of the caverns. The Discovery Trail on the second level opened in 1977 and runs through the middle of the cavern.

Stone County, Arkansas

Stone County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2010, the population was 12,394. The county seat is Mountain View. The county was formed on April 21, 1873, and named for the natural stone formations in the area. It is a dry county, meaning that the sale of alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited. Stone County is home to the famous Blanchard Springs Caverns, a three-level system of still-developing caves administered by the United States Forest Service.
