Inskip is an unincorporated community in Butte County, California. It lies at an elevation of 4777 feet (1456 m). Historical variants to the name suggest the community's history may have included mining. Variant names listed include Enskeeps Diggins and Inskip Town. The town was named in 1857 for the discoverer of gold here, Mr. Enskeep. Inskip contains two buildings, the larger one being the Inskip Inn. The remnants of a pioneer-era stone chimney are all that is left of a third building.
