Shasta Lake, California

The City of Shasta Lake (prior to incorporation it was known as Central Valley or CV) is a city in Shasta County, California, United States. It is the closest settlement to Lake Shasta and the Shasta Dam, which are popular tourist destinations. The population was 10,164 at the 2010 census, up from 9,008 at the 2000 census.

Kennett, California

Kennett was an important mining town in northern California, United States until it was flooded by Shasta Lake while Shasta Dam was being constructed. Kennett is submerged under approximately 400 ft. of water (depending on the lake level). It was the largest, most important mining town in the area outside of Redding and Old Shasta.

Bethel Church (Redding, California)

Shasta Lake

Shasta Lake, also called Lake Shasta, is an artificial lake created by the construction of Shasta Dam across the Sacramento River in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest of Shasta County, California, United States. With a capacity of 4,552,000 acre·ft at full pool, the lake has an elevation of 1,067 ft, and a surface area of 30,000 acres, making it the state's largest reservoir, and its third-largest body of water after Lake Tahoe and the Salton Sea.
