Mendocino College

Mendocino College is a two-year tax-supported community college located in Ukiah, California. Mendocino College was founded in 1973. The main campus is located on 127 acres of hilltop land north of downtown Ukiah in the Ukiah valley. Currently there are about 4,000 students, 55 full-time faculty, and 200 adjunct faculty members. Two branches of the college exist: one in Lakeport and the other in Willits, CA.

Redwood Empire Council

Redwood Empire Council is the local council of the Boy Scouts of America that serves youth in youth in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, and Sonoma counties in California. Founded in 1921 Sonoma-Mendocino Council (#041) as the Petaluma Section (#041), in 1992 it merged with the Redwood Area Council (#044), to form the Redwood Empire Council. The Redwood Area Council was founded in 1923.

Ukiah is the county seat and largest city of Mendocino County, California. With its accessible location (along the U.S. Route 101 corridor several miles south of CA 20), Ukiah serves as the city center for Mendocino County and much of neighboring Lake County. In 1996, Ukiah was ranked the #1 best small town to live in California and the sixth-best place to live in the United States. The population was 16,075 at the 2010 census.
