Anderson, California

Anderson is a city in Shasta County, California, USA, approximately 10 miles south of Redding. The population was 9,932 at the 2010 census, up from 9,022 at the 2000 census. The city was named after ranch owner Elias Anderson who granted the Oregon and California Railroad trackage rights and land for a station.

Anderson Union High School

Anderson Union High School Home of the Cubs is a small high school in Anderson, California with 700 students. Anderson Union High School was started in 1909 and celebrated its 100th year in September 2009. Anderson Union High School is a "California Distinguished School". Cottonwood, California

Cottonwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Shasta County, California, United States. The population was 3,316 at the 2010 census, up from 2,960 at the 2000 census. Cottonwood was a stagecoach town where a settlement was established in 1849. The first Post Office was opened in 1852. Cottonwood is equidistant between Redding and Red Bluff, 15 miles in both directions. It is 4 miles south of Anderson.
