Strawberry, El Dorado County, California

Strawberry is a small unincorporated community on the South Fork American River, 3.25 miles south-southwest of Pyramid Peak, along U.S. Route 50 in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The sign on the highway reads population 50. The town became a popular resort in the 1850s, and a station along the Central Overland Pony Express. The site is now registered as California Historical Landmark #707.

Twin Bridges, California

Twin Bridges is a small unincorporated community on U.S. Route 50 near the Desolation Wilderness in El Dorado County, California. It is located 5 miles west of Echo Summit, at an elevation of 6115 feet (1864 m). It has a population of 14 people according to census figures, however, as of 2008 the road sign lists the population at 10. Right after the town, the U.S.  50 eastbound starts a steep ascent to Echo Summit passing Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort shortly before the summit.

Horsetail Falls (California)

Horsetail Falls is a waterfall in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, to the west of Lake Tahoe in the Desolation Wilderness of El Dorado County, California, United States. It falls in stages for nearly 500 ft (150 m). It can be reached by hiking north out of the Twin Bridges trailhead on U.S. Route 50. Sierra-at-Tahoe

Sierra-at-Tahoe is a ski and snowboard resort in Twin Bridges, California south of Lake Tahoe. Sierra-at-Tahoe is approximately 16 miles (26 km) south of Stateline, Nevada and 12 miles south of South Lake Tahoe on Highway 50 and is contained within the Eldorado National Forest. Sierra-at-Tahoe (often shortened to "Sierra") is a medium sized ski area in the Lake Tahoe region, and is well known for being a more family oriented resort and also having a high annual snowfall.

Pyramid Peak (California)

Pyramid Peak is a mountain in the California's Sierra Nevada within the Crystal Range and to the west of Lake Tahoe. It is the highest point in the Desolation Wilderness. With an elevation gain of almost 4,100 feet, the Rocky Canyon route is the mountain's most popular approach although it is very arduous. To the east, at the base of the peak, lies Pyramid Lake.
