Calico National Recreation Trail, also known as the Upper Calico Trail, is located in the Dolores Ranger District of San Juan National Forest, the 5.5 mile Upper Calico Trail is rated moderate/difficult and has a starting elevation of 10,150' and an ending elevation of 10,400' (junction with Falls Creek Trail #640).

Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado
Dunton Hot Springs, also known as Dunton, Colorado (though never officially incorporated), is a tiny huddle of log buildings that sits at 8,600 feet on the West Fork of the Dolores River in the San Juan Mountains in the Southwest corner of Colorado. Dunton is 35 miles above Cortez, Colorado, and 25 miles (some very tough and in the winter inaccessible) miles southwest of Telluride. Dunton was part of a 260-acre homestead landed by Joe Roscio in the 1880s.

El Diente Peak
El Diente Peak is a fourteen thousand foot mountain peak in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in the Lizard Head Wilderness in the San Miguel Mountains of the San Juan Mountains, in Dolores County approximately 10 miles north of Rico. The topographic prominence of El Diente Peak is only 239 feet, so by a strict 300-foot cutoff rule it would not be counted as a separate peak from its higher neighbor Mount Wilson.

Lizard Head Pass
Lizard Head Pass, elevation 10,222 feet, is a mountain pass in Colorado traversed by State Highway 145. It is located 12 miles south of the Telluride turnoff. The pass is named for a prominent nearby peak that is said to look like a lizard's head, the 13,113 ft spire of Lizard Head. Though it has a mild approach on both sides, it was not easy to traverse for the historic Rio Grande Southern Railroad grades that used to travel through this area, including the legendary Galloping Goose.
