Litchfield Jazz Camp

The Litchfield Jazz Camp began in 1997. The camp has been featured in Time magazine, on CNN and in the JazzTimes Education Guide. Litchfield Jazz Camp offers students 13 to adult of varying abilities the opportunity to study with internationally recognized jazz musicians on the campus of the Kent School, a Connecticut boarding school. Students learn in an intensive, noncompetitive environment, in courses ranging from one to four weeks.

Kent School

Kent School is a private, co-educational college preparatory school in Kent, Connecticut, USA. The Reverend Frederick Herbert Sill, Order of the Holy Cross, established the school in 1906 and it retains its affiliation with the Episcopal Church of the United States. Students at Kent come from more than 40 foreign countries and nearly as many states. Situated between the Appalachian Trail and the Housatonic River, the 1,200-acre campus currently serves 560 students, about 510 of whom board.

Litchfield Jazz Festival

The Litchfield Jazz Festival began in 1996 at the White Memorial Conservation Center in the Litchfield Hills in Connecticut. The parent organization that runs the festival is Litchfield Performing Arts, Inc, a not-for-profit founded in 1981. After two years at the White Memorial Conservation Center the festival moved to the Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, Connecticut where it was held until 2008.

Kent, Connecticut

Kent is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut, alongside the border with New York. The population was 2,858 at the 2000 census. The town is home to three boarding schools: South Kent School, Kent School and The Marvelwood School. The Schaghticoke Indian Reservation is also located within town borders.

Marvelwood School

</div> The Marvelwood School is a college preparatory private boarding school located in Kent, Connecticut, USA. Marvelwood was founded in 1956 by Robert A. Bodkin and Ian Hanna in Cornwall, Connecticut. The co-founder, Robert A. Bodkin, remained Headmaster until 1981. He was succeeded by Peter B. Tacy until 1989, H. Mark Johnson until 1997, Anne Davidson Scott until 2005, and Scott E. Pottbecker until 2011. Arthur F. Goodearl is the current Headmaster.
