The unincorporated community of Canal Point is a census-designated place (CDP) in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 525 at the 2000 census. Canal Point is located between Lake Okeechobee and numerous sugarcane fields. The town is very small with very little infastructure. The area offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Florida.

"Pahokee" means 'grassy waters' in the Creek language.

It was created by Richard Witherow, a minister working in prisons for 30 years, as an answer to sex offender registration laws that strictly limit where offenders may live. Such laws prohibit offenders from living within a certain distance of places where children gather, such as schools, parks, and places of worship.

The Port Mayaca Lock is a navigable lock and dam on the Okeechobee Waterway (St. Lucie Canal), adjacent to U.S. Route 441 and U.S. Route 98 at Canal Point, in Martin County, Florida, United States. It is located near Port Mayaca at latitude 26° 59" 5', longitude -80° 37" 5'. Port Mayaca Lock is open daily from 6:00am to 9:30pm. The total cost of construction was $13.1 million.
