Citra is an unincorporated community in Marion County, Florida. It is known as the home of the pineapple orange, (originally called the Hickory orange) a name coined in 1883 for an orange (fruit) with an aroma reminiscent of the pineapple. It was found in the orange grove of James B. Owens and was first marketed in quantity by Bishop, Hoyt & Co. Citra has two buildings on the National Register of Historic Places: The Citra Methodist Episcopal Church and the Armstrong House.

Orange Lake (Florida)
Orange Lake is in Alachua County, Florida, about ten miles south of Hawthorne. It has an area of about 750 square km, and is part of the Orange Creek Basin. which is in turn part of the Oklawaha River watershed. Cross Creek flows into it from Lochloosa Lake, and Orange Creek drains it into the Rodman Reservoir. Orange Lake also receives water from Newnans Lake that has been diverted from its historic destination of Paynes Prairie.
