Leesburg is located in central Florida, between Lake Harris and Lake Griffin, at the head of the Oklawaha River system. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Leesburg is the home of Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) with campuses also in Clermont, Florida and Sumterville, Florida.

Leesburg High School (Leesburg, Florida)

Leesburg High School is a high school located in Leesburg, Florida and is one of seven public high schools in Lake County, Florida. The school is made up of approximately 1,700+ students. The current principal is Bill Miller. For a number of years the school was rated by the state of Florida, based upon its FCAT scores, as a "D" school. As a result, the school was under pressure by the state to improve FCAT scores for the 2009-2010 school year.
