WFFG (AM)

WFFG (1300 AM) is an American radio station licensed to operate in Marathon, Florida, USA in the Florida Keys. First licensed in 1960, the station was a 500 watt,four-tower directional station that was built on an empty island. Telephone and electrical service was run to the island, exclusively for that station. A new drawbridge had been constructed to allow access to the island. Original owners of the station were Kentucky broadcasters, Bill Betts and Gilmore Nunn, who vacationed in Marathon.
