Green Cove Springs, Florida
Green Cove Springs is a hydrological spring and a city in Clay County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,378 at the 2000 census. As of 2010, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 6,908. It is the county seat of Clay County. The city is named after the portion of the St. Johns River upon which the city is built. The river bends here, and the area is sheltered by trees that are perennially green.

Black Creek (Florida)
Black Creek is a 13.0-mile-long tributary of the St. Johns River. It is located in Clay County, Florida. It rises in the Jennings State Forest from the north fork, and from Kingsley Lake from the south and east forks. It passes near the communities of Middleburg, Asbury Lake, Hibernia, and Green Cove Springs. It flows into the St. Johns River north of Green Cove Springs. The creek is named for the water coloration, caused by the presence of tannin from decaying leaves and vegetation.
