Mountain Lake, Florida

Mountain Lake is a private community north of the City of Lake Wales, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1915. It contains a golf course designed in 1916 by Seth Raynor. Mountain Lake is located in the ridge country of Central Florida, and was developed by Baltimorean Frederick Ruth. With proximity close to trains from the North which would bring residents down for ‘the season’, Ruth assembled 3500 acres and engaged Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr.

Saint Leo University

Saint Leo University is a private, non-profit, Roman Catholic liberal arts university established in 1889/ 1959 and located in Saint Leo, Florida, 35 miles north of Tampa. The University is associated with the Holy Name Monastery, a Benedictine convent, and Saint Leo Abbey, a Benedictine monastery. St. Leo, Florida

St. Leo is a town in Pasco County, Florida, United States. It is a suburb included in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 595 at the 2000 census. As of 2006, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 1,249. It is best known as the home of Saint Leo University, Holy Name Monastery and Saint Leo Abbey. William Hamilton currently serves as the elected mayor of the town.
