Lake Santa Fe
Lake Santa Fe is a 5,850-acre spring-fed lake in northeastern Alachua County, Florida. The lake is located entirely in Alachua County, but is bounded on the east side by Bradford County. The Alachua County boundary extends to the ordinary high water line (normally the shoreline), which is 141 feet above mean sea level. It forms the headwaters of the Santa Fe River, exiting from a "little" northern area emptying into the Suwannee River.

Newnans Lake
Newnans Lake (or Newnan's Lake) is located off State Road 20, east of Gainesville, Florida. Approximately 1.12 miles wide, Newnans Lake is home to many forms of wildlife, and had been designated as a protected site by Alachua County. The lakeside area has sheltered pavilions, a playground, and barbecue grills. There is a boat dock for launching boats and fishing, park benches for bird watching and relaxing, and a boardwalk. In the Spring and Summer of 2000, a drought revealed canoe remnants.
