Gainesville High School (Florida)
Gainesville High School (GHS) is a high school in Gainesville, Florida. The first public high school in Gainesville, Florida, was established in 1900 in what is now known as the Kirby Smith Building on East University Avenue. The school consisted of grades 9-12 and was known generally as the "Gainesville graded high school. " Today the high school is operated by the Alachua County School District. The current principal is David Shelnutt, who joined the GHS staff in December 2011.

WUFT-FM 89.1 is an NPR member radio station owned by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, broadcasting news from NPR. UF has been involved in broadcasting for almost nine decades. It owns WRUF, one of the oldest radio stations in the state, and sister television station WUFT-TV was the first public television station in the state outside Miami. Despite this pioneering role, UF was a relative latecomer to public radio.

WRUF-LD is the callsign of a low-power television station that operates from the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, broadcasting on VHF channel 5, the former analog channel of sister station WUFT. Through the use of PSIP, WRUF maps to virtual channel 10 (reflecting its former analog channel). The station is carried by Cox Communications in Gainesville on channel 6; this is reflected in its logo.

WUFT channel 5 is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member Public television station owned by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. WUFT first signed on the air November 10, 1958; the Gainesville television market is unique in that a public television station is the market's oldest television station. (Gainesville's first commercial television station, WCJB-TV, did not sign on until the 1970s.
