Oceanway, Florida

Oceanway, Florida is a neighborhood of Jacksonville, located just north of the neighborhood of San Mateo in Duval County, Florida. Once dotted with small farms and isolated houses, Oceanway has grown dramatically since the early 1980s, adding numerous residential neighborhoods, a new high school First Coast High School built in 1990, and several other schools for lower grades.

Imeson Field

Imeson Field, also known as Jacksonville Imeson Airport, was the airport serving Jacksonville, Florida, from 1927 until its closing in 1968. It was known as Jacksonville Municipal Airport prior to World War II, Jacksonville Army Airfield when the United States Army Air Forces controlled the facility during World War II, and at its closing the airport was Jacksonville - Thomas Cole Imeson Municipal Airport.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is a zoo located in Jacksonville. It sits at the mouth of the Trout River. The zoo occupies approximately 110 acres and has over 2,000 animals in its collection. The zoo has grown from its modest beginnings in Springfield to be considered one of the city's premiere attractions. The zoo's marquee attraction is the Range of the Jaguar, which won the 2005 AZA Exhibit of the year award. The exhibits highlights animals native to Neotropical Rainforests.

First Coast High School

First Coast High School is a 9–12 comprehensive high school located in the Oceanway neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida. It was opened in 1990, at the same time as its sister school, Mandarin High School, opened in the southern part of the city. The school's design is unique for Jacksonville schools (other than Mandarin, which started with an identical layout). The school is built around a large paved courtyard, reminiscent of Spanish architecture from the colonial period of Latin America.
