Lakeland Center

The Lakeland Center is an 8,178-seat multi-purpose arena, in Lakeland, Florida. It opened in November 1974, as the Lakeland Civic Center, it gained its current name in June 1994 It was home to the Lakeland Loggerheads ice hockey team from 2003 until 2004 and later the Lakeland Thunderbolts indoor football team from 2005 until 2007. Starting in 2012, it will be home of the Lakeland Raiders in the Ultimate Indoor Football League.

Lakeland is a principal city of the Lakeland-Winter Haven, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 584,383 in July, 2009 based on data from the University of Florida Bureau of Economic and Business Research.

Lakeland (Amtrak station)

The Lakeland Amtrak station is a train station in Lakeland, Florida, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Lakeland is unique in that it has two separate Amtrak station codes; one for passengers traveling to points north and the other for passengers traveling points south. Silver Star trains stop at Lakeland twice: before and after stopping at Tampa.
