Cumberland Island

Cumberland Island is one of the Sea Islands of the southeastern United States and is the largest in terms of continuously exposed land. It is located on the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the U.S. state of Georgia and is part of Camden County, Georgia (30°51′N, 81°27′W). The island is 17.5 miles long, with an area of 36,415 acres (147.37 km² or 56.25 square miles), including 16,850 acres of marsh, mudflats, and tidal creeks. There is no bridge to the island.

Plum Orchard

Plum Orchard {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:30.855933|-81.465238|type:landmark_region:US|||||| |primary |name= }} is an estate located in the middle of the western shore of Cumberland Island, Georgia. The estate and surrounding area are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by Peabody and Stearns for George Lauder Carnegie, it was formally dedicated on October 6, 1898.

Satilla River

The Satilla River rises in Ben Hill County, Georgia, near the town of Fitzgerald, and flows in a mostly easterly direction to the Atlantic Ocean. Along its approximately 235-mile course are the cities of Waycross, Waynesville, and Woodbine. The Satilla drains almost 4,000 square miles of land, all of it in the coastal plain of southeastern Georgia. It has white sandbars and is the largest blackwater river situated entirely within Georgia.

Grover Island

Grover Island is an island located near the mouth of Crooked River in Camden County, Georgia. The island has over 400 acres of forest and about 1,600 acres of connected salt marsh and small waterways. Grover Island is four miles (6 km) west of Cumberland Island National Seashore. It was the site of the United States' first national forest preserve.

Kings Bay, Georgia

Kings Bay is a small unincorporated community located at 30.804 N, 81.560 W in Camden County on the southern coast of the U.S. state of Georgia. Since 1979, the adjacent Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay (initially named Naval Submarine Support Base Kings Bay), located at 30.796 N, 81.514 W, has served as the major East Coast operating, training and refit base for nuclear ballistic missile submarines (SSBN). The base also hosts the Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic (SWFLANT), 30.785 N, 81.537 W.
