Naples, Idaho
Naples is a small unincorporated community in Boundary County, Idaho, United States. It lies 11 miles (18 km) south of the city of Bonners Ferry on U.S. Routes 2/95 in the Rocky Mountains. Naples is near the land features of Caribou Ridge and Ruby Creek. The Ruby Ridge standoff of 1992 happened near to the city. The name derives from the area in Italy which was home to many of the laborers who helped build the first rail line through the region around 1890.

Ruby Ridge
Ruby Ridge was the site of a deadly confrontation and siege in northern Idaho in 1992 between Randy Weaver, his family, Weaver's friend Kevin Harris, and agents of the United States Marshals Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation. It resulted in the death of Weaver's son Sammy, his wife Vicki, and Deputy US Marshal William Francis Degan.
