Fort Beggs
Fort Beggs was an impromptu fort used one week in May during the 1832 Black Hawk War. Word about Indian attacks and massacres from the frontier led the residents of Plainfield, Illinois to convert the house of Rev. Stephen R. Beggs into a makeshift fort. It was located in Plainfield, Illinois on the DuPage River and a monument was erected by the Will County Centennial Committee in 1936 to mark its location.

Joliet Memorial Stadium
Joliet Memorial Stadium is a 10,000-seat multipurpose stadium located in Joliet, Illinois. It was built in the 1950s and is dedicated to Joliet residents who fought in World Wars I and II as well as the Korean War. It is the home of the University of St. Francis Saints football team, the Joliet Junior College Wolves football team, and the Joliet Catholic Academy football teams. In addition, the Joliet Buccaneers of the MidStates Football League call it home.
