Etherly, Illinois
Etherly was a town located in Knox County, Illinois, south of Victoria. The town was a "company town:" a community that was the home of miners working the surrounding coal mines. The mining companies in the area went out of business in the early 20th century and the town was sold. Later, The Sherwood Mining Company bought the area mines as well as the village of Etherly. The houses and buildings in the town were sold and moved. Many were moved to Galesburg, Victoria, and surrounding areas.

Elmore, Illinois
Elmore is a small town in West Central Illinois in Peoria County. It is located in the northwest corner of Millbrook Township. The Spoon River runs by it/through it. It did have one church, a United Methodist Church, but it closed in 2008. The church building was built in 1865 and 1866 by Presbyterians/Congregationalists then later sold to Methodists. The building is still being maintained by a benevolent organization. Elmore was settled in the 1830s.
