Putnamville Correctional Facility

The Putnamville Correctional Facility, located in Warren Township, Putnam County, near Greencastle, Indiana, is a medium-security prison for men located on 4,350 acres in Putnam County, Indiana (the west-central part of the state, near US Routes 231 and 40). It currently houses approximately 2,400 inmates. Established in 1915, the prison was known for nearly 70 years as the Indiana State Farm.

Putnamville, Indiana

Putnamville is an unincorporated community in Warren Township, Putnam County, Indiana, United States. It lies along U.S. Route 40 at the intersection of State Road 243. Putnamville was named after American Revolutionary War hero and Putnam County namesake Israel Putnam. Located in Putnamville is the Lincoln Park Speedway, which features different types of oval-track dirt racing, including sprint cars, and is held every Saturday evening throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Cagles Mill Lake

Cagles Mill Lake, also known as Cataract Lake, is a lake located near Cataract, Indiana in Lieber State Recreation Area, in west central Indiana on the borders of Putnam and Owen counties. Mill Creek flows into from the north and drains out through to the Eel River to its south, which then makes its way to the White River. Indiana State Road 42 once went through where Cataract Lake is now and currently has a new, entirely different route on the upper area from its original route.
