Boone County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is part of the Boone, Iowa, Micropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Boone County, Iowa, and which, when combined with the Ames, Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area, comprises the larger Ames-Boone, Iowa Combined Statistical Area. The population was 26,306 in the 2010 census, an increase from 26,224 in 2000. Its county seat is Boone.

KDLF is a radio station serving the Central Iowa area. The station primarily broadcasts Hispanic music format. KDLF is licensed to Latin World Broadcasting, Inc. whose main business offices are located at 1541 E. Grand Ave. , Des Moines, IA. The KDLF antenna system uses two towers arranged in a directional array that concentrates the signal toward the southwest.

KTIA-FM

KTIA-FM (99.3 FM) is a commercial radio station that serves the Boone, Iowa area. The station broadcasts a religious format. KTIA-FM is licensed to Truth Broadcasting, Inc which is also the licensee of KTIA (AM). The station was originally licensed as KFGQ but changed callsigns to KFFF-FM on February 1, 2005. The transmitter and broadcast tower are located in southwest Boone on West Park Avenue.

Camp Hantesa

Camp Hantesa is a camp under the Camp Fire Organization that began in 1919 and held one camp session per summer at the Boy Scout Camp in Boone Iowa. Hantesa welcomes children ages 6–18 to participate in camp crafts and activities in their respective age groups. It was the first camp in America to have a C.I.T. (Counselor In Training) program consisting of L.C. 's and Apprentices ages 15–18. Hantesa's programs emphasize camping and other outdoor activities for youth.
