Earthpark
Earthpark is a proposed best-in-class educational facility with indoor rain forest and aquarium elements, and a mission of "inspiring generations to learn from the natural world. " It was previously called the Environmental Project. Earthpark was to be located around Lake Red Rock, near the town of Pella, Iowa. In December 2007, federal funding from the U.S. Department of Energy for the Pella location was rescinded.

Red Rock Dam (Iowa)
Red Rock Dam is a dam in central Iowa on the Des Moines River, forming Lake Red Rock. It is contained entirely within Marion County. The nearest cities are Pella to the northeast, and Knoxville to the southwest. The dam consists of a rolled earthfill embankment and a gravity concrete control section. The dam, at crest elevation of 797 feet above mean sea level, is about 5,200 feet long and 95 feet high above the flood plain.

KCUI was a radio station that serves the Pella, Iowa area. The station primarily broadcast a college format. KCUI was licensed to Central University of Iowa. The KCUI studio is located in the basement of the Maytag Building on Central University's campus. The station's license was cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission on December 6, 2011. This follows a $7,000 fine from the FCC imposed in 2007 for late filing of the station's 2004 license renewal.
