Sergeant John F. Baker, Jr. Bridge

The Sergeant John F. Baker, Jr. , Bridge, also the Baker Bridge or Interstate 280 Bridge, carries Interstate 280 across the Mississippi River between Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island, Illinois. The bridge opened in 1973 with a blue and yellow color scheme, thought to be unique in the state. In 2007, it was repainted all blue. On July 30, 2010, the bridge was officially named the Sergeant John F. Baker, Jr. Bridge.

Credit Island

Credit Island is an island in the Mississippi River on the south west side of Davenport, Iowa within the Quad Cities area. Its name was derived by the use of the island as an early Indian trading post. Credit could be obtained on the promise of hides and skins to be delivered at a later time - hence Credit Island. It was listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties February 3, 1999.

Davenport Speedway

Davenport Speedway is a half-mile dirt race track located in Davenport, Iowa. In 1953, the track became the first track in Iowa to host a NASCAR sanctioned event, when it held a race for what is now the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Fourteen cars participated in race. Buck Baker won the pole and Herb Thomas was victorious in the race. Now Iowa's premiere racing venue is Iowa Speedway which was built in 2006.

Rock River (Mississippi River)

The Rock River is a tributary of the Mississippi River, approximately 299 miles long, in the U.S. states of Wisconsin and Illinois. It rises in southeast Wisconsin, in the Theresa Marsh near Theresa, Wisconsin in northeast Dodge County, Wisconsin approximately 17 miles south of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It flows southwest, through the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge, then meanders southward draining the area of southeast Wisconsin between the Wisconsin River and Lake Michigan.

Putnam Museum

The Putnam Museum is a museum of history and natural science in Davenport, Iowa, United States. The museum was founded in 1867, and was one of the first museums west of the Mississippi River. It houses 160,000 historical artifacts and specimens. It is located at 1717 West 12th Street, at the corner of Division and West 12th Street on "museum hill," near Fejervary Park. The theatre has one of the largest movie screens in the state of Iowa, 57' by 70'.
