KRPS (FM)

KRPS is the National Public Radio member station for the Four State Area. Licensed to Pittsburg, Kansas, it is owned by Pittsburg State University. Studios are located in Shirk Hall on the PSU campus. It is one of the few NPR stations to be the primary member for two markets--Pittsburg and Joplin, Missouri (though they are a single television market).

KKOW-FM

KKOW-FM "96.9 The Kow" is a country station licensed to Pittsburg, Kansas, owned by American Media Investments. 96.9 FM was brought on the air in 1975 as KMRJ by Jim Harbart. At its inception it was an adult contemporary station on Quincy Street in Pittsburg. In 1982, the station was sold to John David and Richard Chegwin who turned KMRJ into an Adult Contemporary formatted station, and changed the call letters to KDBQ.

Weir, Kansas

Weir is a city in Cherokee County, Kansas, United States. It is named after landowner T. M. Weir, who donated forty acres as a townsite. Weir was one of the first locations in Kansas where coal was mined commercially. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 686.

K33HZ

K33HZ was a television station in Pittsburg, Kansas. As a TBN owned-and-operated station, it was currently a repeater that broadcast programming from the Trinity Broadcasting Network, via satellite. The station broadcast its analog signal on UHF channel 33. TBN took K33HZ silent May 16, 2009 due to declining support, which has been attributed to the digital transition. Its license was canceled at TBN's request on May 21, 2010.
