White Rock, Kansas
White Rock, Kansas was a settlement in Republic County, Kansas. Several attempts were made to settle the area, but it wasn't until 1866 when Thomas Lovewell settled the town permanently. White Rock was formally laid out in 1871 and school began to be taught that same year. It was considered a desirable location because of its land qualities. The town was located on the west side of the Republican River in the White Rock township about 14 miles northwest of Belleville.

Lovewell Reservoir
Lovewell Reservoir is a man-made lake in Jewell County in the state of Kansas near the town of Wayne. It has a surface area of 2,986 acres and a maximum depth of 35 feet. The waters are enjoyed for recreational purposes. The reservoir was created by impounding the waters of White Rock Creek with Lovewell Dam, an earthen dam 8500 feet long and 81 feet above streambed. The dam was a project of the United States Bureau of Reclamation, completed in 1957.
