Souders Historical Museum
The Souders Historical Museum is located 1/2 mile southwest of Cheney, Kansas, United States on MacArthur Road (39th St. S. ) and depicts what life was like in Cheney and rural Kansas in the late 1880s and early 1900s. There are a number of buildings at the museum, including a Main Street, several businesses, a school, a church, a homesteaders cabin, and train depots from both Cheney and neighboring Garden Plain.

Sedgwick County Fair
The Sedgwick County Fair has been held in Cheney, Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States since 1940. Floyd Souders, a citizen of Cheney began working on having a county fair in the community in 1939. Even though Cheney was one of the smaller towns in the county, it had been successful in hosting a Fall Festival, and Mr. Souders thought Cheney would be a good site for a county fair. Mr. Souders owned and ran the town newspaper, and also served in the Kansas House of Representatives.

Cheney State Park is a state park of Kansas in the United States. Completed in 1964, the park is located in Kingman and Reno counties in Kansas, 5 miles north of Cheney and 20 miles west of Wichita. The park is divided into two areas, comprising 1,913 acres, straddling the 6,800-acre Cheney Reservoir, one of the top sailing lakes in the United States. The Ninnescah Sailing Association has facilities in the West Shore Area.

Cheney Dam
Cheney Dam (National ID # KS00017) is a dam whose middle section lies in the northwest corner of Sedgwick County, Kansas. Its western end lies in Kingman County, while its eastern end lies in Reno County. The earthen dam was constructed between 1962 and 1965 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation, with a height of 126 feet and a length of 24,458 feet at its crest.
