Menifee County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2010, the population was 6,306. Its county seat is Frenchburg. The county is named for Richard Hickman Menefee, U.S. Congressman, although the spelling has changed. It is a prohibition or dry county. Menifee County is located in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau. It is part of the Mount Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area.

WUPX-TV is a television station in Morehead, Kentucky, serving the Lexington market as an affiliate of the Ion Television network on digital channel 21. The station's broadcasting tower is located on McCausey Ridge in Menifee County. As such, its signal barely reaches its intended city. WUPX-TV was launched as UPN 62 WBLU-LP and UPN 67 WAOM-TV until 2001. Both stations simulcast UPN and infomercials until WAOM was sold off.

Cave Run Lake
Cave Run Lake, located south of Morehead, Kentucky, USA along Kentucky Route 801, is an 8,270-acre, reservoir built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The 148 ft (45 m), half-mile (800 m) dam construction began in 1965 and was completed in 1973. Cave Run Lake is in the northern part of the Daniel Boone National Forest.
