The Kentucky State Capitol is located in Frankfort and is the house of the three branches (executive, legislative, judicial) of the state government of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Kentucky Supreme Court

The Kentucky Supreme Court was created by a 1975 constitutional amendment and is the state supreme court of the U.S. state of Kentucky. Prior to that the Kentucky Court of Appeals was the only appellate court in Kentucky. The Kentucky Court of Appeals is now Kentucky's intermediate appellate court. Criminal appeals involving a sentence of death, life imprisonment or imprisonment of twenty years or more go directly to the Kentucky Supreme Court, bypassing the Kentucky Court of Appeals.

Daniel Boone

Daniel Boone (November 2, 1734  – September 26, 1820) was an American pioneer, explorer, and frontiersman whose frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States. Boone is most famous for his exploration and settlement of what is now Kentucky, which was then part of Virginia but on the other side of the mountains from the settled areas.

Frankfort High School (Kentucky)

Frankfort High School is located at 328 Shelby Street in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is part of the Frankfort Independent School District which consists of Second Street School, Wilkinson Street School (which has moved into the high school), and Frankfort High School. Notable graduates include George C. Wolfe, Sarah Norman, and the writer, Walter Laughlin, Class of 1986. The Frankfort High mascot is a panther.

Kentucky State University

Kentucky State University (KSU or, less commonly, KYSU to differentiate from Kansas State University) is a four-year liberal arts institution located in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States, the Commonwealth's capital. The university is an historically black university and the second state-supported post-secondary institution in Kentucky. It is also an 1890 Land Grant university which serves the citizens of Kentucky through its cooperative extension program.
