David McKenzie Log Cabin

The David McKenzie Log Cabin is a historic house located within the Mountain Homeplace in Staffordsville, Kentucky, United States. The cabin was built between 1860 and 1865 by David McKenzie, who was an early settler of Johnson County. It was originally located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37|52|56|N|82|54|44|W|type:city | |name= }}, in Volga but was moved to the Mountain Homeplace in the early 1990s by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

Johnson County, Kentucky

Johnson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It was formed in 1843. As of 2010, the population was 23,356. Its county seat is Paintsville. The county is named for Richard Mentor Johnson, War of 1812 general, United States Representative, Senator, and Vice President of the United States.

Paintsville Lake

Paintsville Lake is a 1,139-acre reservoir in Johnson and Morgan counties in eastern Kentucky. It was impounded from Paint Creek in 1983 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. It is the major attraction of Paintsville Lake State Park.

Paintsville Lake State Park

Paintsville Lake State Park is a park located just west of Paintsville, Kentucky in Johnson County. The park itself encompasses 12,404 acres, while Paintsville Lake, its major feature, covers approximately 1,139 acres extending into parts of Morgan County. The park contains thirty-two developed campsites, ten primitive campsites, a playground, four picnic shelters, a four lane launch ramp, an amphitheater, a restaurant, a marina, and a Kiwanis Trail.

Johnson Central High School

Johnson Central High School is a public secondary school located at 257 North Mayo Trail on the northwest side of Paintsville, Kentucky, United States. The school serves as the Johnson County School District's consolidated high school. As of the 2009–10 school year, enrollment is 1,040 in grades 9-12. The school was featured as a US News and World Report America's Top High School, maintaining the Bronze Award since 2007.
