Hardin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It was formed in 1793. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 105,543. Its county seat is at Elizabethtown. Hardin County is part of the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Metropolitan Statistical Area, part of the overall Louisville metro area. The county is named for John Hardin, a Continental Army officer during the American Revolution.
