Greenup County, founded in 1803, and named in honor of Christopher Greenup, is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population was 36,891. Its county seat is Greenup. The county is named in honor of Christopher Greenup. Greenup County is part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). Greenbo Lake

Greenbo Lake is a 181-acre reservoir nestled in the Appalachian foothills of Greenup County, Kentucky. The lake was jointly created in 1955 by the Greenbo Lake Association (a group of residents who desired to create a recreation attraction in their area) and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. Its distinctive name derives from the combination of the names of the county it is located in and adjacent Boyd County.

Carl Perkins Bridge

The Carl D. Perkins Bridge is a cantilever bridge that spans the Ohio River between Portsmouth, Ohio and Greenup County, Kentucky. The bridge carries the two lanes of State Route 852 and Truck Route U.S. Highway 23. The bridge connects to Kentucky Route 8. During the demolition of the original U.S. Grant Bridge and the construction of its replacement upstream, it was the only highway bridge connecting Ohio to Kentucky at Portsmouth. The Perkins Bridge also served as a detour for U.S.

Franklin Furnace, Ohio

Franklin Furnace is a census-designated place (CDP) in Scioto County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 1,660 at the 2010 census. Franklin Furnace was the name of an early iron ore furnace built in eastern Scioto County in 1826. The community that grew in that area is named after the furnace. Franklin Furnace's post office has the ZIP code of 45629.
