Bienville Parish, Louisiana

Bienville Parish (French: Paroisse de Bienville) is a parish located in the northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Louisiana. The parish seat is Arcadia. In the 2010 census, the Bienville Parish population is 14,353, a decrease of 1,399, or nearly 9 percent, from the 2000 tabulation of 15,752. Bienville Parish is 42 percent African American. The highest natural point in Louisiana, a hill known as Mt. Driskill, 535 feet in elevation, is located in north central Bienville Parish.

Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie Elizebeth Parker (October 1, 1910 – May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (March 24, 1909 – May 23, 1934) were well-known outlaws, robbers, and criminals who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression. The "Barrow Gang" included at times Buck Barrow, Blanche Barrow, Raymond Hamilton, W.D. Jones, Joe Palmer, Ralph Fults, and Henry Methvin. Their exploits captured the attention of the American public during the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934.
