St. George Lake is the fourth largest lake in Waldo County, Maine. It is in the township of Liberty, on the western side of Waldo County. Lake St. George State Park is on the northwest shore of the lake. The lake is populated with at least 14 species of fish, including salmon, brook trout (stocked since 1980), and smallmouth bass.

Sheepscot Pond
Sheepscot Pond is the third largest lake in Waldo County, Maine. It is in the township of Palermo, on the western edge of Waldo County. The pond has a maximum depth of 132 feet with well-oxygenated water. It contains over 20 species of fish, and has historically been stocked with salmon, lake trout, and brook trout. Attempts have been made to limit the lamprey eel population by erecting barriers during their spawning migrations.
