Highland Beach, Maryland

Highland Beach is a town in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The population was 96 at the 2010 census. The town was founded early in the 20th Century by affluent African Americans from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, looking for a retreat on the Chesapeake Bay. The town's incorporated status gave it a unique standing in empowering it to maintain its own police force. Celebrities with homes here have included Alex Haley, Bill Cosby, and Arthur Ashe.

Hillsmere Shores, Maryland

Hillsmere Shores was a census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Annapolis. The population was 2,977 at the 2000 census. It was included in the Annapolis Neck CDP at the 2010 census. Built in phases, beginning in 1960, the community was originally gated, with the sign "a private community", a code intended to warn black and Jewish visitors that they were not welcome as new neighbors.

NSS Annapolis, officially known as Naval Communications Station Washington, D.C. Transmitter or NavCommStaWashingtonDC(T), was a Very Low Frequency and High Frequency (HF) transmitter station operated by the United States Navy. It was located at Greenbury Point, in Anne Arundel County, across the Severn River from Annapolis, Maryland at coordinates {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|58|40|N|76|27|12|W| | |name= }}. NSS Annapolis was used by the USN for submarine communication.
