Poolesville, Maryland

Poolesville is a town in the western portion of Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The population was 4,883 at the 2010 census. It is surrounded by (but is technically not part of) the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, and is considered a distant bedroom community for commuters to Washington, D.C. The name of the town comes from the brothers John Poole, Sr. and Joseph Poole, Sr. who owned land in what is now Poolesville.

The Barnesville MARC Station in Barnesville, MD is a passenger rail station on the MARC Brunswick Line between Washington, D.C. and Martinsburg, WV (with and extension to Frederick, MD). It is located at 8 Beallsville Road in Barnesville, Maryland. The station house is located on the southwest corner of the 14 feet 1 inch railroad bridge over Beallsville Road, while parking is available on the northwest and southwest corners of the railroad bridge.

Dickerson (MARC station)

Dickerson is a passenger rail station on the MARC Brunswick Line between Washington, D.C. and Martinsburg, WV (with an extension to Frederick, MD). This station was designed by E. Francis Baldwin and built by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in 1891. It is the last station Frederick bound trains pass before branching onto the Frederick Branch.
