E.A. Vaughn Wildlife Management Area

E.A. Vaughn Wildlife Management Area is a state wildlife management area (WMA) of Maryland that consists of two separate parcels of land on Chincoteague Bay in Worcester County, between the villages of Girdletree and Stockton. From the 1940s to the 1960s, E.A. Vaughn WMA was a game farm where a number of pheasant species were raised and released. It was also an area where wildlife biologists experimented with plants and planting arrangements which would most benefit wildlife.

Franklin City, Virginia

Franklin City is an unincorporated community in Accomack County, Virginia. Greenbackville and neighboring Franklin City grew as a result of the railroad line laid in the late 19th century to transport oysters and other shellfish from Chincoteague to Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City. However, during the course of the 20th century the Depression, the construction of the Chincoteague Causeway, and the nor'easter of 1962 all helped to erode Greenbackville's economic base.

Greenbackville, Virginia

Greenbackville is a census-designated place (CDP) 4.5 miles (5 km) south of Stockton, Maryland in Accomack County, Virginia, located just south of the Maryland state line at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|0|32|N|75|23|30|W|type:city | |name= }}. The population as of the 2010 Census was 192. The town was settled in 1867 and was officially named "Greenbackville" by the United States Postal Service in 1874.
