Christ Church (Ironsides, Maryland)

Christ Church (also known as Old Durham Church) is one of the oldest (1732) surviving Episcopal church buildings in the U.S. state of Maryland. Christ Church is located in the village of Ironsides within the town of Nanjemoy. Trinity Church, Dorchester County, dates to the 17th century, possibly 1675, and is thus older. The parish was established in 1661 and chartered in 1692.

Nanjemoy Creek

Nanjemoy Creek is a 13.1-mile-long tidal tributary of the Potomac River in Charles County, Maryland, USA, located between Cedar Point Neck and Tayloe Neck. Its watershed area (excluding water) is 73 square miles, with 2% impervious surface in 1994. The Nature Conservancy established its Nanjemoy Creek Preserve in 1978, which protects more than 3,510 acres in the watershed. There is a large Great Blue Heron rookery located at Nanjemoy Creek.

Smallwood State Park

Smallwood State Park is a 628-acre state park near Marbury, Maryland. It is located at Sweden Point on the Mattawoman Creek. It includes a restored plantation home, Smallwood's Retreat, home of General William Smallwood. The park features a marina, boat launching ramps, a picnic area, camping area, pavilions, a recycled tire playground and nature trails.
