Codman House

Codman House is a historic house set on a 16-acre estate at 36 Codman Road, Lincoln, Massachusetts. Thanks to a gift by Dorothy Codman, it has been owned by Historic New England since 1969 and is open to the public June 1–October 15 on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. An admission fee is charged. The original house was Georgian and was built in approximately 1735 by Chambers Russell I.

Walden Pond

Walden Pond is a 102 foot- (31 metre)-deep lake in Concord, Massachusetts in the United States. It is 61 acres in area and 1.7 miles around. A famous example of a kettle hole, it was formed by retreating glaciers 10,000–12,000 years ago. The writer, transcendentalist, and philosopher Henry David Thoreau lived on the northern shore of the pond for two years starting in the summer of 1845. His account of the experience was recorded in Walden; or, Life in the Woods, and made the pond famous.

The Wayside

The Wayside is a historic house in Concord, Massachusetts. The earliest part of the home may date to 1717. Later, it successively became the home of the young Louisa May Alcott and her family, author Nathaniel Hawthorne and his family, and children's literature writer Margaret Sidney. It became the first site with literary associations acquired by the National Park Service and is now open to the public as part of Minute Man National Historical Park.
