WBCR-LP is a low power FM radio station with office and studio located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, broadcasting on the 97.7 FM frequency. The organization's legal name is "Berkshire Community Radio Alliance," and is also known as "Berkshire Community Radio" or "BCR. " WBCR-LP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-run, non-commercial, community radio station with over 70 locally produced shows currently on the air.

Searles Castle (Massachusetts)

The Searles Castle is a romantically imagined castle-style house in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Built in the 1880s, and in the French chateau-style, it has seven stories and includes a "dungeon" basement. There are 40 rooms containing over 60,000 square feet of floor space, as well as 36 fireplaces. It was commissioned in 1888 by Mary Hopkins, widow of railroad millionaire Mark Hopkins. She married Edward Francis Searles, who had designed the interior, while the castle was being built.

John Dewey Academy

The John Dewey Academy is a therapeutic college preparatory boarding school in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, housed in Searles Castle. It is coeducational and enrolls about 25 high school students, ages 15 to 21, typically in grades 10 to postgraduate. The student body is largely made up of self-destructive adolescents who have not responded well to traditional educational and behavioral treatment.

Bard College at Simon's Rock

Bard College at Simon's Rock, more commonly known as Simon's Rock (see below), is a residential four-year liberal arts college located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, USA. Simon's Rock is an "early college", designed for students to enroll immediately after completing the tenth or eleventh grade, rather than after graduating from high school. The college's founder, Elizabeth Blodgett Hall, had formerly been a private girls' school headmistress at Concord Academy.
